Climbing

The rocky Zillertal valley is perfect for climbers of every skill level.
One of Mayrhofens newest kletter routes starts right next to the Gasthof. This route has a height of 200m, takes about 1½ hours and has a rating of D on a scale of A to E.
The route offers among other things, strait, overhanging and steep climbs with iron grips and cables, and rocks with cables followed by a bridge crossing.
The finish point is located near the Gasthof Zimmereben.
A second route has been added with the same start and finish points but slightly more challenging.

The area is also perfect for climbing rockfaces. With a buddy belaying you on the ground, you can scale numerous faces in the Mayrhofen area.

A more extreme form of climbing is boulder. In this style you scale large rocks and secure yourself to set points in the rock.

The Austrian climbing guru Gerhard Hörager and his climbing school Rocky Nature call the Zillertal home. They offer lessons and courses on the rock face next to the Gasthof and also organize excursions where you get to see the best spots in the valley.

The Gasthof Zillertal can arrange lessons, excursions and gear for you with Gerhards school in Mayrhofen.
