Mayrhofen is located in the idyllic Austrian Zillertal valley. Although it is mostly known for the outdoor possibilities in the winter, it has set a goal to become the new mekka for mountain bikers.
 
All the stops have been pulled to make this into a reality, from mountainbike trails to a complete downhill park on the Penken Mountain. Bikers can use the Penkenbahn lift to take them up the first 1350 altimeters and proceed to the breathtaking trails.
 
Singletrails can be found throughout the whole Zillertal.  No matter what kind of biker you are, there is a flavor for everyone.
Some trails are perfect for the cross-country biker looking to go long distances and others cater to the needs of the more technical, downhill rider. The Zillertal area certainly deserves its title of being one of the most diverse mountain bike regions in the Alps.
